The night before the ship came home, we had a meeting, Meet and Greet, at the USO to go over the events of the next day and pull the first kiss winner. Afterwards we went down to the beach to say a little prayer thanking the Lord for keeping an eye on our sailors through this long deployment and bringing them home to us.
I was actually very nervous, as I was "volen-told" to do the prayer. I have never prayed out loud before so that was a first for me.

My buddy Heather Tuner, she is one of the spouses on the ship.
